Thank you for contacting Auckland Transport on 20 May 2017 requesting information relating to: 

Did Tranzit Limited tender for Auckland bus services in 2016 or 2017?

If so why were they unsuccessful?

Please provide all documents and correspondence relating to Auckland Transport’s consideration of
Transits tender including any board papers, meeting minutes and correspondence with Transit.
Auckland Transport’s response to your request for information is as follows: 
Yes, both Tranzit Limited and Transit Australia tendered for Auckland bus services in 2016 and 2017. 
The evaluation methodology determined the successful bid. 
In accordance with clause 7(2)(b)(ii) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act, Auckland 
Transport declines to respond for the following reasons: 

The price information for all units (tendered and directly negotiated) is used for the Data Envelopment
Analysis  (DEA)  which  identifies  the  benchmark  used  for  the  Directly  Negotiated  Units  and
negotiations are not  yet completed for all units. Disclosure at this stage would likely prejudice any
future negotiations.

The Non-price information is similar from region to region and disclosure at this stage would likely
prejudice the commercial position of Operators in any negotiation for a Tendered Unit.

Auckland Transport will be happy to release all relevant information upon completion of all tender
activity related to bus services during the requested period.
We trust the above information has addressed the matters raised however, should you believe that we have 
not  responded  appropriately  to  your  request,  you  have  the  right  in  accordance  with  section  27(3)  of  the 
LGOIMA to make a complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman to seek an investigation and review in regard 
to this matter.
