REQUEST FOR INFORMATION 
I refer to your email of 17/03/2017 in which you requested “could you please provide the documents 
that form the basis for this statements made in this report?” 
I have considered your request in accordance with the Official Information Act 1982. 
I enclose a copy of the requested information, namely

Financial Crime Agency New Zealand (OFCANZ) 2010 publication detailing its finding in relation to 
organised crime in New Zealand. 
I can advise that Constable Smith, in his decades of policing has been involved in executing and 
assisting with a large number of drug search warrants.   
In a significant number of these where the subject is found to be cultivating cannabis, they are also 
found to be in possession of class ‘A’ drugs like methamphetamine.   
Police also find other evidence of their involvement with criminal groups and buying, selling and 
financing those harder drugs. 
If you are not satisfied with my response to your request you have the right to complaint to the 
Office of the Ombudsmen and seek a review.
