Hi Stephen and Jon

It appears that the applicant can apply for an amendment noting that the details of the buildings wastewater discharge control and connection to the public network are handled under either a future amendment or are removed and handled under a separate building (small works) consent.

There would need to be a condition along the lines that the buildings wastewater discharge control and connection to the public network are approved (WCC & WWL) and installed prior to CCC application.

Also we would want a condition that the existing wastewater lateral/connection (over 25 years old) cannot be reused.

Can you please confirm you are happy with this approach and advise on whether the buildings wastewater discharge control and connection to the public network can be addressed by an amendment or should be handled under another consent. I thinking amendment as otherwise the building could get CCC but not have an approved wastewater discharge – but happy to take any and all advise.

Can you please advise the best to handle given the options proposed above or others you have?

Cheers

Sheryl

Sheryl

The answer to your question is NOWHERE.

In our RFI we have not approved the tank until it is approved by Public Drainage.

The client has asked to remove the tank from this consent and will be covered by a separate amendment once resolved with Public Drainage.

I understand this was discussed and agreed with you and Jon Moser because the issue could not be resolved by Public Drainage.

Regards

Stephen

Hi Stephen

As a heads up - The applicant/developer? just gave me a call asking where we were at with this project. I said I was waiting for some advice on how to best proceed from you. He said he might give you a call to discuss.

Cheers

Hi Stephen

Wellington Water is undertaking some further work looking into the wastewater network in this area and the effect of development. This site is one of a few that are being considered for intensive residential redevelopment.

I had a brief discussion yesterday with Jon (Moser) regarding the ability to handle the wastewater connection (and detention if required) outside of the current building consent – so they aren’t held up while we resolve the big picture issue regarding wastewater network capacity questions in this area.

It appears that the applicant can apply for an amendment noting that the details of the buildings wastewater discharge control and connection to the public network are handled under either a future amendment or are removed and handled under a separate building (small works) consent.
