We refer to your email dated 24 December 2016 and received this morning requesting the following 
information under the Official Information Act pertaining to Candidate Recruitment information. 
 
Please provide the total number of hospital beds from 2006 to 2016 at Canterbury District Health 
Board. Yearly count will be great. Please note that the bed volume is the count of physical bed 
capacity ( i.e. bed spaces). The count includes beds, roller beds, lazy-boys etc. The data does not 
include patient occupancy volumes. 
 
As  required  under  the  Official  Information  Act  (1982),  the  Canterbury  District  Health  Board  will 
respond to your request within 20 working days.   Please note that Official Information Act requests 
is  closed  between  23rd  December  2016  and  16th  January  2017.    You  should  therefore  receive  a 
response on or before 13 February 2017. 
 
If  a  large  amount  of  information  has  been  requested  or  if  the  Canterbury  District  Health  Board  or 
West Coast DHB needs to consult in order to make a decision, we may need to extend this date (this 
is provided for in section 15A of the Act).  We will advise you if such an extension is necessary.
