Dear Jenny M
I refer to your request of 13 September 2016 in which you seek the following information:
… a copy of the Memorandum of Understanding and information sharing between
Queensland Police and New Zealand Police that allows NZ Police to share otherwise private
and non-publishable material and information with another agency during employment
inquiries.
I have considered your request in accordance with the Official Information Act 1982.
Your request for this information is declined pursuant to s18(e) of the Official Information Act as the
information that you have requested does not exist. There is no Memorandum of Understanding
between New Zealand Police and Queensland Police which allows for the sharing of information
about employees during employment inquiries.
You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Official Information Act 1982, to ask the Ombudsman
to review my decision if you are not satisfied with the way I have responded to your request.
Yours sincerely
Jenny Williams
National Employee Relations Manager
