Re: weed and vegetation control complaints 
 
I refer to your email, which we received on 18 July 2016, requesting information about weed 
and vegetation control complaints. 
 
Councils Customer Service department have run reports to get raw data using keywords 
"Spray", "Weed", and "Glyphosate" , however staff would  need to open up each  individual 
file  to confirm whether the content is relevant, and to break down the information as 
requested. The estimated time to complete this exercise is at least 40 hours. 
 
Council has considered whether fixing a charge or extending the timeframe for the request 
would allow us to provide this information.  In this instance, this request is refused under 
section 17(f) as the information cannot be made available without substantial collation or 
research.   
If you would like to make a refinement please feel free to contact me direct and we can work 
together to provide you with some information that may be helpful.  
Should you believe Auckland Council has not responded appropriately to your  request,  you 
have  the right  by  way  of  complaint,  under  section  27(3)  of  the  LGOIMA,  to  apply  to  the 
Ombudsmen to seek an investigation and review of the decision.
