Dear Ani Sangy Chozom 
I refer to your email dated 12/4/16 in which you requested “Private video footage was taken of 
boats in the bay at Furneaux Lodge on afternoon/early evening of December 31, 1997, and 
subsequently handed in to Police investigating the disappearance of Olivia hope and Ben Smart in 
Operation Tam.  Please, I am requesting copies of records relating to it, and a copy of said footage”. 
The purpose of this letter is to notify you that Police require an extension of time in which to 
respond to your request, pursuant to section 15A(1)(a) of the Official Information Act 1982,  because 
the request necessitates a search through a large quantity of information and consultations such 
that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit. 
Police require until 30 June 2016 to provide a substantive response to your request. 
You have the right to complain to the Office of the Ombudsmen about this extension.
