Dear Ms Beauchamp
I refer to your email of 11 January 2015, in which you requested information related to the University of
Auckland Doctoral Scholarships. The University’s response follows.
I request under the Official Information Act-
1. The Regulations for the University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarship Programme. 2. All Policy, criteria,
assessment tools etc the University of Auckland would apply in the fol owing scenario to make a decision on
which degree wil be the “qualifying programme” for the purposes of awarding a scholarship under the
University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarship Programme.
The University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarship 2016 regulations (“UoA Doctoral Scholarship Regulations”)
are attached.
Under regulation 6 of the UoA Doctoral Scholarship Regulations, the award of a scholarship will be based on
academic merit, measured by the grade point average or equivalent obtained in the applicant’s most recent
qualifying programme for doctoral study. The “most recent qualifying programme for doctoral study” will be
the qualifying programme under which the applicant is admitted to their doctoral programme.
If you have questions about your specific circumstances in relation to qualifying programmes for doctoral
study at the University of Auckland, you may contact
[email address].
Yours sincerely
Rebecca Ewert
