Thank you for your email of 30 June 2026 requesting the following information: 
•  Please release any information that is held in your office or was exchanged 
with  officials  when  drafting  the  most  recent  letter  of  expectations  that 
discusses  criteria  for  people  receiving  emergency  housing  places  or 
performance targets for numbers of people in emergency housing. 
I have considered your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). 
Please find my decision on your request set out below. 
The  Ministry  of  Social  Development  letters  of  expectation  are  operational  in 
nature.  As  such,  there  has  been  no  correspondence  with  my  office  during  the 
drafting of these letters. Your request is refused in full under section 18(e) of the 
Act, as this information does not exist.
