Thank you for your email of 23 June 2026 to the Ministry of Education (the Ministry)
requesting the following information relating to the appointment/reappointments to
the Board of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority:
1. May I asked how you called for public nomination and on what platform
you have call for public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website.
2. A copy of your ad as wel and pay rate.
3. Also, how many applications you have received for each of the role from
the public and how many you have received from other nominating
agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for your role.
4. How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed.
5. Also, can I request to view the appointment letter if there is one sent to the
Dame Susan Hassall and Jeremy Baker.
I am happy for you to remove any
relevant personal information.
6. Besides meeting fees, do they receive any other benefits, such as expense
reimbursement (If so, may I request to view your expense reimbursement
policy in relation to your board member), a laptop, ID card, phone, or
similar provisions?
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).
We have determined that the information requested in
part six of your request is not
held by the Ministry but is believed to be held by the New Zealand Qualifications
Authority (NZQA).
As such, I have transferred this part of your request to NZQA in
accordance with section 14(b)(i) of the Act.
We are extending the 10-working-day time limit available to make this transfer, to 9
July 2026, in accordance with section 15A(1)(b) of the Act, as consultations
