Thank  you for your correspondence  of  19 June 2026  to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and 
Employment (MBIE) requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following: 
 
Please can you provide all current SOPs relating to the Parent Category, specifically including the fol owing: 
 
•  Parent Category EOI Selection SOP (Queued Pool and Ballot Pool) 
•  Parent Category EOI Credibility Check SOP 
•  Parent Category EOI Decline SOP 
•  Parent Category Issuing ITA SOP 
•  Parent Category Resident Visa Assess Eligibility SOP 
•  Parent Category Assess Identity SOP 
•  Parent Category Resident Visa Decision Check SOP 
•  Parent Category Applications pending 3rd party checks SOP 
•  Parent Category Assess Health SOP, including any materials and internal guidance relating to the 
withdrawal/removal of a secondary applicant from a residence application for not meeting health 
requirements. 
 
Any materials relating to the formulas used in the apportionment calculator for calculating sponsor income. 
 
We are extending the timeframe to make a decision on your request under section 15A of the Act, as the 
request necessitates a search through a large quantity of information and further consultation is required 
to make a decision on your request. 
 
As such, a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit. MBIE will notify you 
of a decision on your request no later than 5 August 2026. 
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of our decision to extend the
