INFORMATION REQUEST On 4 June 2026 you asked for information about the current staffing of the Recovery Team at
Tauranga City Council. Here is our response to your questions:
1. Can I please be provided with a full list of job titles, FTE measure, whether the
position is filled by secondment or new hire and if possible, salary bands for
the Recovery Office/Team?
Information relating to the resourcing of the Recovery Office/Team, including staffing
arrangements, secondments, backfil requirements, and associated costs, is provided
in
Attachment 1.
Further detailed information at an individual role level (including specific job titles,
FTE allocations, employment status, and salary bands) is not being provided. This is
because the Recovery Team structure comprises a limited number of roles, many of
which are held by a single individual. As such, releasing this level of detail would
make those individuals readily identifiable.
Accordingly, this information is withheld under section 7(2)(a) of the Local
Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987, to protect the privacy of
natural persons.
In making this decision, Council has considered whether there are any factors that
would render it desirable, in the public interest, to make this information available.
While there is a public interest in transparency regarding the use of public funds, this
is met through the provision of aggregated staffing cost information. This interest
does not outweigh the need to protect the privacy of individual staff members.
2. Please also include any positions that are vacant or planned e.g Iwi Liaison -
Recovery Team which is currently open on the TCC website.
As reflected in current recruitment activity, this includes roles such as the Recovery Iwi
Liaison and Recovery Planning Coordinator, which are either vacant or in the process
of being fil ed.

3. Please could you also provide details of any consultants assigned to the
recovery office including cost, term, role/function.
No consultants are assigned to the recovery office.
