Thank you for your Of icial Information Act request to the Department of Conservation, received on 
03 June 2026 in which you asked for funding and financial accountability records in relation to the 
Matuku Reserve Trust. 
 
This letter is to advise you that we are extending the 20 working day period to respond to your 
request, as allowed under section 15A(1) of the Official Information Act 1982. We require an 
additional 5 days to respond to your request. We wil  send you a response no later than 08 July 
2026, earlier if possible. 
 
The extension of time is needed as the consultations necessary to make a decision on the request 
mean that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit. 
 
You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Of icial Information Act to make a complaint to an 
Ombudsman about the extension.
