Thank you for your emails on 18 May 2026, asking Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health 
NZ) for the following under the Official Information Act 1982 (the OIA), attached as Appendix One. 
Health NZ has combined your two emails into a single request under section 18A(2) of the OIA, as 
they relate to the same subject matter and were received in close succession. 
Response 
Health NZ has undertaken reasonable steps to identify information within scope of your request. 
This has included enquiries with relevant national teams and a review of our national learning 
management systems. 
Health NZ has not identified any nationally delivered training programmes or materials specifically 
focused on drug-induced nutrient depletion, nutrient monitoring for patients on long-term 
medication, nutritional support during or after medication withdrawal (including abrupt cessation), 
or the identified physiological immunity frameworks as discrete training topics. 
While aspects of these matters may be addressed within broader clinical education, medication 
management, or specialty-specific training, this information is not centrally indexed or searchable 
at the level of detail requested. Health NZ’s national learning systems contain over 7,000 courses, 
and identifying material that may partially address these topics would require detailed manual 
review and consultation with individual course owners across the organisation. 
We also note that clinical education within Health NZ is delivered across a range of national, 
regional, and local contexts, and is not generally structured around single, narrowly defined subject 
areas in isolation. 
Given the breadth of your request - including training materials, competency expectations, internal 
correspondence, and future planning across multiple topic areas - Health NZ considers that the 
work required to identify, assess, and collate relevant information would involve substantial 
collation and research. Accordingly, your request is refused under section 18(f) of the OIA. 
I have considered whether extending the timeframe for response under section 15A of the OIA, or 
fixing a charge under section 15, would enable Health NZ to respond. I do not consider that either 
option would sufficiently reduce the impact on Health NZ’s ability to carry out its other operations.
