Official Information Act request relating to Parliament protesting funding
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request, which was received by the
Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) on 26 May 2026. You requested:
I am seeking all documents relating to the protest held in Parliament Grounds in
February and March 2022, specifically any reports or other documents (including
communications) that relate to the funding or organisation of the protest.
In our response sent to you dated 8 July 2026 we advised that consultation was stil being
undertaken in regard to Item 3 as listed below. Consultation is now completed and I am able
to respond.

Please find attached a copy of Item 3 in which paragraphs 17-20 and Attachment B titled
‘Letter from Hon James Shaw MP’ are being released to you in full. Noting the information
withheld as not in scope in Item [3] remains the same as it was released to you on 8 July
2026.
I appreciate your patience while this was finalised and trust you find the information useful.
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision under
section 28(3) of the Act.
