Official Information Act request relating to parliament protesting funding  
 
Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act (the Act), which was 
received by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) on 17 May 2026. You 
requested: 
 
“I am seeking all documents relating to the protest held in Parliament Grounds in 
February and March 2022, specifically any reports or other documents (including 
communications) that relate to the funding or organisation of the protest.” 
 
I believe your request is more closely connected to the functions of the New Zealand Police. 
Accordingly, I have decided to partially transfer your request to the New Zealand Police 
under section 14(b)(ii) of the Act, for any information they may hold. DPMC will respond to 
you with any information we may hold.   
 
The New Zealand Police has the usual timeframes under the Act from receipt of this transfer 
to make a decision on your request.
