[FYI request #34694 email]
Dear Kay
I refer to your Official Information Act (the Act) request made to the Environmental Protection
Authority (“EPA”). On 5 June 2026, the EPA transferred this part of your request to WorkSafe New
Zealand:
One. Where New Zealand is currently sourcing technical grade sodium fluoroacetate
following the fire at Tull Chemical Company in Oxford Alabama in October 2024 and
whether there have been any supply disruptions to the 1080 programme as a result?
WorkSafe holds limited information on your specific query, but we can provide the following
information which will give you some context.
Since October 2024, WorkSafe has approved only three requests for 1080 importation:
(1) Sourced from Tull Chemical Company, Alabama. However, the quantity of 1080
importation from Tull was revised to reduce the quantity in the request.
(2) Sourced from the JieJie Group Limited in China.
(3) Sourced from Cambridge Isotope Laboratories Inc, United States of America.
To the extent that WorkSafe holds relevant information, this reply addresses the information you
requested. You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision, and
further information is available
at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz. To make information more freely available, we publish selected OIA responses (excluding personal
details) on our website. Please get in touch with us if you have any questions about this.
If you require further assistance, please con
tact [email address]. Yours sincerely
