I refer to your official information request received on 13 May 2026 for information regarding 
sodium fluoroacetate. 
The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) does not hold part of the information you have 
requested, specifical y:  
Three. The basis for the provisional Maximum Acceptable Value of 3.5 micrograms 
per litre for 1080 in New Zealand drinking water including what toxicological studies 
or international guidance it was derived from? 
Five. A copy of any review of the 1080 drinking water MAV that has been conducted 
prior to 2021.  
However, we believe the Ministry of Health does. Therefore, we have transferred these parts 
of your request to the Ministry of Health under section 14(b)(i) of the Official Information Act 
1982.  
You wil  hear further from the Ministry of Health concerning those parts of your request. You
