I am responding to your email of 12 March 2026 to the Department of Internal Affairs
(the Department) requesting the fol owing under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I noted, you have call expression of interest for Community Trusts
May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for public
nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. A copy of your ad and pay rate for the role as wel . Also,
how many applications you have received for each of the role from the public and how many
you have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for
your role. How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed. Also, how
many space you are looking to fil in this round. Please separate your response for each of the
community trusts you are seeking expressions of interest for. I understand that multiple trusts
are included in this round.
Responses to your questions are set out below
Advertising and nomination process
The Department called for nominations for community trust trustee positions via the Department’s
statutory appointments webpage. The relevant Community Trusts also promoted the vacancies
within their respective regions using local media, their own websites, and social media platforms. In
addition, the Associate Minister of Finance, Hon Shane Jones, sought nominations from his caucus
colleagues.

Appendix A. Applications received
The Department received a total of 29 applications in this appointment round. Of these, three
applications were received via the Ministry for Ethnic Communities. Appointments may be made by
reappointing current trustees and/or appointing new trustees.
Shortlisting and interviews
Shortlisting has not yet been completed, as applications are currently under assessment.
Consequently, no interviews have been conducted to date. This part of your request is therefore
refused under section 18(e) of the Act, as the information requested does not yet exist.
