Thank you for your email of 14 April 2026 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE)
requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information:
I see that the minute ECO-25-MIN-0088 relating to the Cabinet paper Science, Innovation and
Technology Reforms (considered on 4 June 2025) is available on your website. However I cannot find the
full Cabinet paper. I also note guidance CO (23) 4: Proactive Release of Cabinet Material: Updated
Requirements, which states that Cabinet papers and minutes should be proactively released within 30
business days of decisions, unless there is good reason not to publish all or part of the material.
I would like to request (a) the full Cabinet paper Science, Innovation and Technology Reforms if it is not
available on the MBIE website already and (b) if the paper is not already available, the good reason why it
was not proactively released within 30 business days of decisions.
This Cabinet paper Science, Innovation and Technology Reforms is already published on our website. You
can view this document a
t Science, Innovation and Technology Reforms. MBIE is therefore refusing your request under section 18(d) of the Act, as the information requested is
publicly available.
If you wish to discuss any aspect of your request or this response, or if you require any further assistance,
please contact
[email address]. You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information
about how to make a complaint is available a
