Thank you for your correspondence of 2 April 2026 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and
Employment (MBIE) requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the fol owing:
Please provide a copy of the current staff training material and SOPs for the Accredited
Employer Work Visa category.
Please also provide a list of IACs and advice to staff relevant to the Accredited Employer Work
Visa.
We advised you on 5 May that MBIE was extending the timeframe to make a decision on your request
undersection 15A(1)(a) of the Act, as the request necessitates a search through a large quantity of
information.
Our Response
Please refer to the attached appendices for the information you have requested on staff training
materials and SOPs for the Accredited Employer Work Visa Category (AEWV).

Please be advised that some of the information in the appendices is with held under the following
sections of the Act: -

Section 6(c) as the disclosure of the information would be likely prejudice the
maintenance of the law, including prevention, investigation, and detection of offences,
and the right to a fair trial.
•
Section 9(2)(a) to protect the privacy of natural persons. I do not consider that the
withholding of this information is outweighed by public interest considerations in making
the information available.
•
Section 9(2)(b)(ii) as making this information available would be likely unreasonably to
prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied or who is the subject of the
information.
