Official Information Act request relating to lobbying organizations 
 
Thank you for your follow-up Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request, which was 
received by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) on 28 April 2026. You 
requested: 
 
“Can  you  please  request  a  full  list  of  known  lobbying  organizations  both  public  and 
clandestine from the SIS and/or GCSB such that the request is able to progress” 
 
DPMC  has  consulted  with  the  New  Zealand  Security  Intelligence  Service  (NZSIS)  and  the 
Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB). Both agencies have confirmed that 
they do not hold the material you have requested, nor are they more closely connected to the 
subject matter. DPMC is therefore unable to transfer your request under section 14(b) of the 
Act. 
 
As  outlined  in  DPMC’s  response  to  your  earlier  request,  DPMC  does  not  hold  this 
information. Your request is therefore refused under section 18(g) of the Act. 
 
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision under 
section 28(3) of the Act. 
 
This response will be published on the DPMC website during our regular publication cycle. 
Typically, information is released monthly, or as otherwise determined. Your personal 
information including name and contact details will be removed for publication.
