Thank you for your email of 1 April 2026 to Te Kaunihera o Pōneke | Wellington City Council (the 
Council) requesting the following information: 
 
•  Can I please have a copy of the Governance Statement 2025-2028.  This should have 
already been published and it is a breach of the Local Government Act 2002 that it has not 
been. Other Council's have their's published and so should WCC. 
 
Your request has been considered under the Local Government Of icial Information and Meetings Act 
1987 (LGOIMA).  
 
You can now find a copy of the Council’s Local Governance Statement 2025-2028 on our website. 
 
I also note that section 40(2) of the Local Government Act 2002 states that a local y authority must 
comply with subsection (1) within 6 months after each triennial general election of the members of the 
local authority. The last election was held on 11 October 2025 and have published within the six 
months of that date. Therefore, we are not in breach of the Act.
