Thank you for your request for information under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA)
dated 31 March 2026 in which you requested:

“I seek the following information for the 2024 academic year:
1.
The average grades for all papers offered by Victoria University of Wellington.
2.
The number of students enrolled in each course.”

On 31 March 2026 you were contacted to discuss the scope of your request, as your original
request would likely be refused under section 18(f) of the OIA as it would require substantial
research and collation in order to respond. On that same day you agreed to refine your
request to be for:

“I have made a mistake and was actually asking for the 2025 average grades. I can
cut it down to: BCOM101, BCOM102, ACCY130, INFO102, INFO101, COML111,
ACCY131, STAT193.

If I could have the following about these courses in 2025:
1.
Number of students receiving each grade (A+, A, A- etc)
2.
Median grade for each course
3.
Number of participants in each course.”

Please note that this request is considered a new request under section 15(1AA) of the OIA.
