OFFICIAL INFORMATION REQUEST: LEDGER AVE STORMWATER/SEWAGE PUMP
We refer to your official information request dated 21 March 2026. Our response is set out
below:
I am requesting any health complaints relating to contamination, smell, health
concerns, and water related issues including e coli arising from the Ledger Avenue
Storm water and sewerage pump, which services a large area of Motueka, Tasman.
These complaints may have come from residents from Ledger Avenue, Marion Place,
Goodman Drive, McCarthy Crescent, and Kingston Place. Please provide a record of
these complaints between 2011-2026.
It should be noted that the Ledger-Goodman Park Sewer Pump Station is used solely for the
processing of wastewater and is not a stormwater pump.

Redactions have been applied under section 7(2)(a) of the Local Government Official
Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) to protect the privacy of natural persons,
including that of deceased natural persons.
It should also be noted, data marked out of scope has been removed as the information did
not pertain to public health or odour issues relating to the Ledger-Goodman Sewer Pump
Station.

Only one public health complaint relating to odour has been lodged with our Compliance
team, being SR 1405809. Upon investigating, they did not substantiate the presence of any
offensive or objectionable odour. Based on the information available to the Council, as no
offensive or objectionable odour has been confirmed, no breaches have been identified, and
no enforcement action has been required.
