In regard to your Official Information Act (the Act) request, which was received by the 
Department of Internal Affairs (Department) on 19 March 2026, in which you requested: 
I saw that there was a Digitising Government conference held in Wel ington on March 
18th, 2026 where Myles Ward (Deputy Government Chief Digital Officer and Deputy 
Chief Digital Officer) gave a keynote speech titled "Keynote: Accelerating digitisation – 
breaking barriers, building momentum". 
 
I was interested in getting a copy of the slide deck if there was one used for this 
keynote as wel  as any assistive notes used for the keynote. 
The Department’s decision on your request 
We have identified two documents in scope of your request, which we are releasing in full. 
Appendix A attaches the documents in scope.  
We intend to publish our response to your request on www.dia.govt.nz. This letter, with 
your personal details removed, will be published in its entirety. Publishing responses 
increases the availability of information to the public and is consistent with the Act’s 
purpose of enabling more effective participation in the making and administration of laws 
and policies and promoting the accountability of Ministers and officials.
