Thank you for your request of 16 March 2026 to Fire and Emergency New Zealand requesting the 
following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA): 
 
•  I would like to obtain the appliance cascading scheme for 2026. This includes Volunteer 
and Career Fire Stations 
 
We can advise that there is no appliance cascade plan for 2026. For this reason, we are refusing 
your request under section 18(e) of the OIA, as the document alleged to contain the information 
requested does not exist. 
 
However, please find attached, as the Appendix to this response, a copy of the most recent 
version of the cascade plan. This document includes volunteer and career fire stations. 
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
