Response to your request for official information Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Ministry of
Health – Manatū Hauora (the Ministry) on 6 March 2026 for information regarding Crown board
fee framework changes. You requested:
“I noted,

authority-members-after-fee-framework-
changes/premium/ZEM6WJVQBZHDLJ3DG5NMEVL6GM/
Government approves pay hikes for Crown board, authority
Can you please let me know the implication if any to the Health Practitioners Disciplinary
Tribunal or any other boards you are managed under. e.g how much increase we are
talking about and if you have the new rate, please provide so.”
On 22 March 2026, you confirmed that your reference to “other boards’ related to boards where
the Director-General of Health is the appointing authority. Each part of your request is
addressed below.
Any changes to Crown board fees have no direct effect on Health Practitioners Disciplinary
Tribunal (Tribunal) remuneration. Tribunal member fees are governed separately under the
Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 and are not set through the Cabinet Fees
Framework.
As a result, the Ministry does not hold information on fee increases or new rates for the Tribunal
arising from the fees framework changes. This part of your request is therefore refused under
section 18(e) of the Act, as the information does not exist.

You may wish to contact the Tribunal directly for further information, however, please note that it
is not subject to the Act
: [email address].
“or any other boards you are managed under [where the Director-General makes
appointments]. e.g how much increase we are talking about and if you have the new rate,
please provide so.”
At this stage, no changes in fees have been made for committees or boards where the Director-
General of Health is the appointing authority.
If you wish to discuss any aspect of your request with us, including this decision, please feel
free to contact the OIA Services Team on:
[email address]. Under section 28(3) of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review any
decisions made under this request. The Ombudsman may be contacted by email at:
[email address] or by cal ing 0800 802 602.
Please note that this response, with your personal details removed, may be published on the
Ministry website at:
