Game Animal Council Vacancies 2026
The Minister for Hunting and Fishing is seeking nominations for membership of the
Game Animal Council.
The Minister will be seeking to appoint up to four (4) members to the Council who will
collectively have knowledge and experience relating to game animals (recreational and
commercial hunting, deer farming, hunting-related tourism), farming generally, forestry,
kaitiakitanga, nature conservation, and scientific disciplines.
The Minister is also seeking applicants with a strong understanding of board functions
and previous governance experience.
Appointments will take effect from 1 July 2026 and will be for a term of up to three
years.
Nominations may be made by any person or organisation. Additional information and
