OFFICIAL INFORMATION REQUEST
I acknowledge receipt of your request dated 22 February 2026 seeking information relating to
forestry-related communications, meetings, and conflict-of-interest declarations for the period
1 January 2021 to present.
Council has carefully reviewed your request and as currently framed, it spans a five-year
period and seeks material that “relates to” forestry impacts using broad terms that are
commonly used across the organisation, including in contexts unrelated to forestry.
During this period, Council has experienced multiple significant weather events and recovery
responses, resulting in a substantial volume of briefings, communications material, operational
documentation, and stakeholder engagement referencing forestry, erosion, sedimentation,
and related matters.
The terms used in your request do not provide sufficiently defined parameters to enable
Council to reasonably identify the information sought without extensive manual review across
multiple business units and systems.
In its current form, Council is not able to reasonably identify and collate the information
requested.
To enable the request to be progressed, we ask that you refine the scope by specifying a more
defined timeframe, event, decision, or document type.
Until the scope is clarified, Council is not in a position to progress the request further. In
accordance with section 13(7) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings
Act 1987, the statutory timeframe for response wil run from the date that clarification is
received.
Council remains willing to assist you to refine the request so that it may be responded to.
