I am responding to your email of 7 February 2026 to the Department of Internal Affairs (the
Department) requesting the fol owing under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
•
Lottery grants board, May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what
platform you have call for public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website.
•
A copy of your ad and pay rate as wel .
•
Also, how many applications you have received for each of the role from the public
and how many you have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or
Ministry of women etc for your role.
•
How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed.
•
Also, can I request to view the appointment letter if there is one sent to the
appointee. I am happy for you to remove all the personal information.

Further, How many vacancies are you looking to fil ?
Response to your request
The Department sought nominations through the Department’s statutory appointments
website, SEEK New Zealand, Appoint Better Boards, Ministry for Ethnic Communities, the
Ministry for Women, the Ministry for Pacific Peoples, Te Puni Kōkiri, Whaikaha – the Ministry
of Disabled People, and the New Zealand Treasury.
For the single role in the 2026 appointment round, the Department received 68 applications.
Of the total applicants, five learned of the role from the Ministry for Women’s nominations
service, and five from Whaikaha – Ministry of Disabled People. A Member of Parliament also
nominated one candidate. The remaining 57 applicants learned of the role through public
advertising platforms.
The appointment process is stil underway, no shortlist or interviews have been completed
to date, therefore no appointments have been made, or appointment letters been issued.

Appendix A is the advertisement and candidate information sheet, which
includes information about remuneration.
