Thank you for your email of 20 January 2026 to the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) requesting
the following information:

May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for
public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. A copy of your ad and pay rate as well. Also,
how many applications you have received for each of the role from the public and how
many you have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of
women etc for your role. How many you have shortlisted and how many you have
interviewed. Also, can I request to view the appointment letter if there is one sent to the
appointee. I am happy for you to remove all the personal information. How many vacancies
are you looking to fil for this round.
Your request has been considered under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act).
The call for nominations for the NZQA board (the Board) was advertised on the Ministry’s website.
The nominations are to fill up to four vacancies on the Board, noting some members are eligible for
reappointment.
I attach a copy of the job description posted with the advertisement as
Appendix A. A copy of the
advertisement was previously provided to you on 2 February 2026, reference OIA GEMS-46368.

Pay bands for members of the Board have recently increased to $27,900 - $48,300. New members
are planned to be appointed on $40,824 per annum.

Thirty-one applications have been received in total, with thirteen being received from the public and
eighteen provided by nominating agencies.
I am unable to provide the number of applicants shortlisted and interviewed, as the appointment
process is stil in progress as of 12 February 2026. I am also unable to provide the appointment
letter/s as none have been sent. I am therefore refusing this part of your request under section
18(e) as the information does not exist.
