Thank you for your Official Information Act (Act) request received by the Department of Internal 
Affairs (Department) on 15 January 2026.      
You requested – 
Can you provide processing time data (in days) for Citizenship by Grant (CBG) applications 
that had an outcome between July 2025 and December 2025 (inclusive)? 
 
Specifically, can you provide processing time distributions (from lodgement to outcome), 
broken down by applicant country of birth, including: 
o   25th percentile processing time 
o   50th percentile (median) processing time 
o  80th percentile processing time 
o  90th percentile processing time 
Only if country of birth data is not available, applicant citizenship data is also acceptable. 
In response to your request, please refer to Appendix A, attached to this letter. This data was 
collated on 20 January 2026 and is accurate at this date. 
As this information may be of interest to other members of the public, the Department has 
decided to proactively release a copy of this response on the DIA website. Al  requestor data, 
including your name and contact details, will be removed prior to release. The released
