Your request for information under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings
Act 1987 (LGOIMA)
– [CAS-1262061-Y0J6J9]
Kia ora,
I am writing in response to your official information request received by Auckland Transport (AT) on
the 22nd of December 2025 for internal documentation on a decision for the route 326 bus service
not to stop at Middlemore Train Station. Please find answers to your questions below.
(1) The route of the 326 bus to not go to Middlemore train station via Orakau Road.
AT holds no communication on a decision not to stop at Middlemore Train Station via Orakau
Road.
Your request is therefore refused under section 17(e) of the LGOIMA as the information does not
exist.
Our planning specialist team have confirmed however that buses do not have access to the
Middlemore hospital site on the northern side of Orakau Road and that Orakau Road is not wide
enough for a bus to perform a U-turn to enable a stop on Orakau Road.
(2) Any communications with the various health organisations that are involved in the
Middlemore campus physical locations around access rights.
AT holds no communication with Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora relating to access rights at
Middlemore Station.
Your request is therefore refused under section 17(e) of the LGOIMA as the information does not
exist.
For your information, AT consulted on service changes as part of the 2023-2031 Regional Public
Transport Plan (RPTP). We did not receive any comments regarding the 326 route or Middlemore
Hospital. Feedback on the RPTP was received by Te Whatu Ora, however this did not include any
feedback on this issue or any route specific requests.
(3) Anything around the decision to have the closest stop be Gray Avenue.
AT holds no correspondence on a decision relating to the closest stop to Middlemore Hospital
being on Gray Avenue.
Your request is therefore refused under section 17(e) of the LGOIMA as the information does not
exist.
Should you believe that we have not dealt with your request appropriately, you are able to make a
complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman in accordance with section 27(3) of the LGOIMA Act
and seek an investigation and review regarding this matter.
Ngā mihi,
