Response to your request for official information Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Ministry of
Health – Manatū Hauora (the Ministry) on 19 December 2025. You requested:
“I would like to have information about certified providers. Please would you share the current list of certified providers under section 26 of the Health and Disability Services (Safety) Act 2001?”
A list of certified aged care providers, public and private hospitals and fertility providers are
available on the Ministry’s website at:
www.health.govt.nz/regulation-legislation/certification-of-
health-care-services/certified-providers. For each subtype of provider, there is a downloadable
Excel spreadsheet (csv file) that provides further detail at the bottom of the page.
For other residential disability providers who are certified by HealthCERT, please refer to
Appendix 1 of this response. HealthCERT is the team within the Ministry that is responsible for
regulating healthcare providers as required under the Health and Disability Services (Safety) Act
2001 (HDSS Act).
Please note that residential disability providers are only required to be certified by HealthCERT
if they are providing care for five or more residents in a premises.
