OIA: [GEMS-46437] – incomplete components of SMART procurement process
Thank you for your email of 19 December 2025 to the Ministry of Education (the Ministry)
requesting the following information:
I have a follow up question in relation to: OIA: 1354236, 1354237, 1354239,
1354242,1354246 Student Monitoring, Assessment and Reporting Tool (SMART)

Please clarify what specific components of the procurement process for SMART remain
incomplete, and provide the expected timeline for completion. If any aspects of the
contract or selection process are still ongoing, please describe them.

Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). We have
interpreted your request as referring to the contract or selection process leading to the award of the
contract for SMART.

The procurement process is nearing completion, with debriefs for the unsuccessful suppliers being
the only outstanding selection process activity. The expectation is that all the required activities will
be completed by mid-March 2026.

Alongside this, we have completed the negotiation with the successful supplier (Janison Solutions
Pty Limited). Execution of the Agreement is now complete, and we have published the Award
notice on the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS), as per the Government
Procurement Rules.

Thank you again for your email.
Nāku noa, nā
