May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have 
call for public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. A copy of your ad and pay rate 
as well. Also, how many applications you have received from the public and how 
many you have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry 
of women etc for your role. How many you have shortlisted and how many you 
have interviewed.” 
Response to the request 
Calls for nominations for the Water Services Authority – Taumata Arowai Board and Water 
Services Authority – Taumata Arowai Māori Advisory Group closed on 5 December 2025. 
Calls for nominations for both statutory bodies were publicly advertised on the Department’s 
website and jobs.govt.nz. There were no direct costs associated with putting up the 
advertisements. A copy of the advertisement is attached as Appendix A

In total, 17 nominations were received for the Water Services Authority – Taumata Arowai 
Board. 
Of the total, three were received from nominating agencies1. 
In total, seven nominations were received for the Water Services Authority – Taumata Arowai 
Māori Advisory Group. None were received from nominating agencies. 
Information on Cabinet Fees Framework for members appointed to bodies in which the Crown 
has an interest referenced in Cabinet Of ice Circular [CO (25) 2] provides guidance for 
determining and reassessing the fees paid to member of statutory and other bodies in which 
the Crown has an interest. This circular is found linked here:

Shortlisting is currently being considered with the numbers yet to be confirmed. No interviews 
have taken place to date.
