The Role
•
Develop a new function that elevates the way data is managed, governed, and
utilised
•
Enable smarter decisions, better services, and stronger outcomes for communities
across New Zealand

Partner with leaders to centralise governance while empowering teams to use data
effectively
•
Lead the migration from legacy platforms to modern, scalable systems
•
Bring a forward-looking lens to embed AI and emerging tools into everyday work

About You
You wil be a leader who brings:

Deep expertise in data science, business intelligence, and governance
•
The ability to translate technical concepts into compelling stories that engage and
influence
•
A collaborative and influential style, building trust while setting clear expectations
•
Experience in data privacy and regulatory frameworks (public sector exposure is an
advantage)
•
Proven success leading large-scale data transformation programmes and technology
modernisation
•
A passion for building high-performing teams and creating lasting capability
