Thank you for your email
of 8 December requesting the fol owing information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
Regarding the fol owing events:
(a) The Toitū te Tiriti hikoi that crossed the Auckland Harbour Bridge in November 2024
(b) Any Gaza/Palestine-related protest or march that crossed or occupied the Auckland
Harbour Bridge during 2024-2025
(c) The proposed "Kiwi Patriots" / Destiny Church march across the Auckland Harbour Bridge
planned for 2025/2026.
Each of your questions is addressed below in turn.
1. Requirements, conditions, and bonds for protest/march events on the Auckland Harbour
Bridge For the above events, please provide:

Whether organisers were required to submit an application or obtain approval from
Waka Kotahi. Any conditions, criteria, or requirements communicated to organisers
Whether a bond or financial security was required, and if so, the amount Whether a
Traffic Management Plan was required Any other compliance requirements imposed

Auckland Transport regarding the event Any documents recording the decision-
making process for approving, declining, or imposing conditions on these events Any
risk assessments or advice prepared regarding these events

I am refusing your request regarding the internal communications for the fol owing “Toitū te Tiriti hikoi”
under section 18(e) of the Act because the document alleged to contain the information requested
does not exist or, despite reasonable efforts to locate it, cannot be found.
Certain information has been withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the Act. This section al ows for the
withholding of information to protect the privacy of natural persons.
With respect to the information that has been withheld, I do not consider there are any other factors
which would render it desirable, in the public interest, to make the information available.
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to refuse
this request. The contact details for the Ombudsman can be located at

In line with NZTA policy, this response wil soon be published on our website, with personal
information removed.
