Thank you for your information request dated
4 December 2025. You sought the following:
“Under the OIA please provide the following information:
Is the Ministry of Māori Development aware of al eged bul ying allegations and
complaints at the Manukau Urban Māori Authority (MUMA) involving the CEO
and the alleged trespassing of union representatives? If so, when was the
Ministry first made aware?
Please provide all communications including but not limited to texts, emails and
meeting
notes,
concerning
the
notification
and
any
ongoing
discussions/meetings involving the matter. This should include internal
communications and external communications if any, with MUMA or its
representatives.
What action if any, has the Ministry taken to address concerns that funding could
be provided to an organisation where allegations and complaints of alleged
bul ying against the CEO exist?
Is the Ministry aware of Labour MP Willie Jackson's alleged involvement in this
matter including allegedly meeting with the former board chair and asking for a
review to be buried.
Please provide all communications if any, with Mr. Jackson involving MUMA
since January 2025.”
Response to your request
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (
Act).
A search of our records has not identified any information in scope of your request. Te
Puni Kōkiri does not have any current funding agreements with the Manukau Urban Māori
Authority. Your request is therefore refused under section 18(e) of the Act because the
information requested does not exist or, despite reasonable efforts to locate it, cannot be
found.
