Your Official Information Act 1982 request, reference OIA 2526-0624
I am responding to your email of 2 December 2025 to the Department of Internal Affairs (the
Department) requesting the fol owing under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I noted, you have call expression of interest for Digital Identity Trust Framework
Authority.
May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for
public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. A copy of your ad and pay rate as wel . Also,
how many applications you have received from the public and how many you have
received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for your
role. How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed.
Also, "The Secretary of Internal Affairs is seeking up to five members from the private
and public sectors for appointment to the Authority." How many application you have
received from public sector and how many you have received from private sector.
Response to your request
The Department cal ed for nominations through the Department’s statutory appointments
website, SEEK New Zealand, and Appoint Better Boards. The Department also sought
nominations from a range of government agencies, including the Ministry for Ethnic
Communities, Ministry for Women, Ministry of Pacific Peoples, Te Puni Kōkiri, Whaikaha -
Ministry of Disabled People, Ministry of Social Development, Te Whatu Ora, Ministry of
Education, Inland Revenue, Reserve Bank of New Zealand, Ministry of Justice, and the
Commerce Commission.
The Department received 24 submissions, from which six candidates were shortlisted. Of the
shortlisted candidates, four are from the public sector. Al six shortlisted candidates were
interviewed. Please note that the appointment process remains ongoing.

Appendix A is the advertisement and candidate information sheet, which
includes information about remuneration.
Public interest considerations
As is required by section 9(1) of the Act, consideration has been given as to whether the
withholding of information is outweighed by other public interest considerations which

would make it desirable to make this information available. In this instance, it is not
considered to be the case.
