I have heard back from Coroner Johnson regarding s9(2)(a)
Coroner Johnson has advised that no correspondence information or data to/from the Coroners Office should be
disclosed by Police in relation to this case.
Coroner Johnson did let me know that however that an inquest into s9(2)(a)
I will let you know when I hear back regarding s9(2)(a)

Subsequently it became apparent Police had in fact reported three Covid-19 vaccine related deaths to the Coroner. I
have advised the NZLSOS group of the change to my OIA reply, and that I will collate information about the three
Coroners referrals, before providing a further response to its request. My attached letter to NZLSOS refers.

I have looked into this matter further. I can confirm that the three deaths mentioned in the media
were reported via Police. I note that one of these Coronial cases is closed, and the remaining two
are open.
Would it be helpful to be provided with the names of the deceased to check Police systems? Just a
reminder that all information requests relating to open Coronial Cases should be directed to the
Coroner.

I understand from Scott Spackman that you are Police’s lead on Coronial matters.
Am hoping that you may be able to assist with a query I have – which ties back to an
OIA I’m responding to.
The OIA asks for any correspondence or information to or from the coroner’s office
regarding ‘adverse reactions’ to the covid-19 vaccine. I see there is some media
coverage reporting 3 deaths that are suspected to be linked to the vaccine.
Is this something that you have any knowledge of? Would these deaths have been
reported to Police and by Police to the Coroner?
