Tēnā koe Mr Montgomerie
Thank you for your email of 18 December 2025 to Te Kaunihera o Pōneke | Wellington City Council
(the Council), requesting the following information:
1. Any correspondence, including direct messages (e.g SMS, whatsapp) and emails, between
Councilors and Council staff in relation to this report, between the dates of 1 October and 18
November.
2. Any draft copies of the report that were made available, in any form, to Councilors between 1
October and 18 November.
3. Any correspondence, meeting notes, briefing material, that were provided to the CEO in
relation to his comments to the Dominion Post for that article
4. Any correspondence between the council and local businesses between 1 October and 18
November where information is sought from and/or provided by those businesses in relation to
the report

Your request has been considered under the Local Government Of icial Information and Meetings Act
1987 (LGOIMA).

Questions One, Three, and Four
The Council has granted your request for correspondence, and the information has been provided as
an appendix. Some information has been withheld under section 7(2)(a) of the LGOIMA, to protect the
privacy of natural persons, including that of deceased natural persons.

Question Two
As there were no draft copies of the report made available to Councillors in the time frame requested,
the Council has refused this portion of your request under section 17(e) of the LGOIMA, that the
document alleged to contain the information requested does not exist or, despite reasonable efforts to
locate it, cannot be found.

As per section 7(1) of the LGOIMA, I do not consider that in the circumstances of this response, the
withholding of this information is outweighed by the other considerations which render it desirable to
in the public interest to make the information available.

I trust this information is helpful. If you have any concerns about this response please contact
[Wellington City Council request email]. Alternatively, you are advised of your right to raise any concerns
with the Of ice of the Ombudsman at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.

Nāku noa, nā
