Thank  you  for  your  email  of  17  November  2025  requesting  the  following  under  the  Official 
Information Act 1982 (the Act) of the Ministry for the Environment (the Ministry): 
 
I am requesting the following information under the Official Information Act 1982. Please 
provide the following information as at 17 December 2025:  
1. For all roles within the mid-level tiers or equivalent levels of your agency's organisational 
structure (for example, team managers, principals, seniors, analysts and advisors, etc), the 
minimum, maximum, and median salaries currently being paid for each position title.  
2. For the same group of roles, the number of employees in each pay band/grade that is 
currently  being  used  for  each  position  title.  I  am  not  seeking  personal  information,  so 
anonymised  data  is  fine.  If  any  part  of  the  request  must  be  withheld,  please  release  the 
remainder. I would prefer the information in a simple table or spreadsheet if possible, please.  
 
The information you have requested is attached in the appendix below.  
 
Please note that requests under the Act cannot be made for future information, so I am unable to 
provide you with information as of 17 December 2025. The information below is current as of 30 
November 2025.  
 
Where the release of information could identify salaries of individuals, this has been withheld under 
section 9(2)(a) of the Act, to protect the privacy of natural persons. This is indicated by an <5 in 
the table. 
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Office of the Ombudsman of my 
decisions relating to this request, in accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. The relevant details
