Thank you for your request of 16 November 2025 to Fire and Emergency New Zealand requesting 
the following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA): 
 
•  I would like to request any information relating to the number of call outs FENZ received in 
the past ten years and the response times from Te Kuiti or Otorohonga to Waitomo Village 
or surrounding area. 
 
Please find attached, as an Appendix to this response, a table which outlines the following: 
 
•  Call out statistics for Te Kuiti Volunteer Fire Brigade and Otorohanga Volunteer Fire 
Brigade, to Waitomo Village between 1 January 2015 and 9 December 2025 (see pages 1-
3). Please note, the ‘responded’ column represents the number of appliances which were 
dispatched for the incident and the ‘attended’ column represents the number of 
appliances that arrived at the incident. 
 
•  Response times for attending appliances from Te Kuiti Volunteer Fire Brigade and 
Otorohanga Volunteer Fire Brigade to Waitomo Village during the same period (see pages 
4-10).
