I  am  writing  concerning  your  Official  Information  Act  1982  (OIA)  request  of 
13 November 2025.  The request is for:  
 
1.  Please provide a copy of any briefings given to Mr. Peters regarding the 
meeting prior to it taking place. 
2.  Please  provide  any  "formal  message"  documents,  summaries,  or  post-
meeting documents made after the meeting. 
3.  If it is known, I would also be grateful if you told me the the date on which 
the visit and meeting formalised/official y arranged. 
 
This email is to advise that we wil  need to extend the time limit for responding to 
you  by  20  working  days,  to  30  January  2026.  This  is  because  the  consultations 
necessary  to  make  a  decision  on  your  request  are  such  that  a  proper  response 
cannot reasonably be made within the original time frame (section 15A(1)(b) of the 
OIA refers). 
 
However, if this process is completed before 30 January 2026, the response wil  be 
sent to you as soon as possible.  
 
Please note: The period from 25 December to 15 January is a statutory non-working 
period under the Official Information Act 1982. These days do not count as working 
days when calculating timeframes for OIA requests. 
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this 
decision by contacting www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
