(the Council) requesting the fol owing information: 
 
Dear Wel ington City Council, 
 
I heard that something like 10% of rate payers are currently in arrears across the city. 
 
Can you please provide me information on the rates arrears. 
 
I would like to know for each of the periods below: 
 
1.  The total number of rate payers 
2.  The number of ratepayers in arrears 
3.  The dol ar value of the arrears 
4.  The dol ar weighted average months in arrears 
 
Can this be provided at the following dates: 
 
30 June 2025 
30 June 2024 
30 June 2023 
31 July 2025 
31 August 2025 
30 September 2025 
31 October 2025 
 
I note I intend to ask for this monthly going forward. 
 
Your request has been considered under the Local Government Of icial Information and Meetings Act 
1987 (LGOIMA).  
 
Please see the information requested in the below table. In regard to point four, “the dollar weighted 
average months in arrears”, this is not included in this response as the Council does not calculate this 
metric. Therefore, point four is refused pursuant to section 17(e) of the LGOIMA as the document 
alleged to contain the information requested does not exist or, despite reasonable efforts to locate 
it, cannot be found. 
 
Furthermore, regarding the following part of your request, “I note I intend to ask for this monthly going 
forward”, rates quarterly reports are publicly available and include comprehensive arrears information.
