To provide the Committee with a comprehensive overview of the Ministry’s people
journey over the past two years, in response to the request at the last ARC meeting for
a deeper dive into workforce and organisational change.

career-related concerns. In response, the Ministry has:
• Delivered Mental Health for Leaders workshops (90% attendance)
• Embedded wellbeing strategies into the HSW roadmap
• Initiated a long-term HSW strategy focused on protective factors and
psychosocial risk controls
• Increased visibility and support for kaimahi through leadership check-
ins and escalation pathways

These risks are being monitored through quarterly reporting, engagement data, and
feedback loops with Te Pūrengi and kaimahi. The next phase of work will focus on
embedding sustainable practices and ensuring the Ministry remains future-fit.
