Health NZ is unable to provide additional details of individual positions, geographical locations or
costs for each role as due to multiple unconnected systems this information, is not readily available
in the form requested.
To provide this information, Health NZ would need to undertake substantial collation across these
systems. Health NZ does hold information centrally regarding approvals across the organisation at
a specific point in time. This information is only collected operationally at a point in time and is
subject to change and does not present an accurate or complete picture of the allocation of funding
in a verified manner. There are thousands of positions being recruited across the organisation and
to confirm where these were all recruited to and at what cost would require substantial col ation
including confirmation with districts about each position.
Please note that in this instance we do not consider that refining the scope of your request would
be likely to mitigate the collation challenges identified above. Therefore, I am declining your
request relevant to the remaining information in scope under section 18(f) of the OIA due to the
substantial collation and research necessary to satisfy your request.
I have considered whether fixing a charge for the supply of the information or extending the
timeframe for response would enable Health NZ to respond. I do not consider that either option
would remove the impact that supplying the information would have on our other operations.
