Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Ministry of 
Health – Manatū Hauora (the Ministry) on 2 November 2025 for: 
“I noted, gazette.govt.nz/notice/id/2025-go5940 
May I ask how you called for public nomination this round and on what platform you have 
call for public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many applications you have 
received from the public and how many you have received from other nominating agencies 
such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for your role. How many you have shortlisted and 
how many you have interviewed. Also, can I request to view the appointment letter sent to 
the appointee- Amanda Biggs-Hume. I am happy for you to remove all the personal 
information.” 
A copy of the reappointment letter issued to Amanda Biggs-Hume as the nurse member of the 
committee is attached with some information withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the Act, to protect 
the privacy of natural persons. I have considered the countervailing public interest in release in 
making this decision and consider that it does not outweigh the need to withhold at this time. 
As this role was a reappointment, there was no advertisement for this position. However, the 
following was completed: 
• Conflicts of interest declaration form
• Online presence checks
• Verification of education/qualifications
• Ministry of Justice conviction check.
